reunite with you inner child
I'd forgotten how good you feel after watching children's movies, especially disney animations. recently me and my flatmate have made a habit out of watching these great movies every night with dinner and i swear i've been waking up happier because of it. after watching a few of these light hearted innocent movies i've realised how much we dont need all this violence and anger that generally comes with hollywood these days and its quite ok to enjoy something that makes you feel like a little child again, so give it ago pick one of your favourite movies you watched as a kid and actually sit down and watch it - its good for you soul!

forgotten words
" Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring". Oscar Wilde.
I recently discovered one of my old diaries - one that wasn't really journal entries but more lists and quotes and song lyrics, anyway I found a list of random (and yes some cliche) things I wanted to do in my life that I wrote a couple of years ago so hear it is:
1. send a message in a bottle
2. write a novel
3. fly first class
4. find a four leaf clover
5. build a snowman
6. dance in the rain
7. ride in a hot air balloon
8. road trip across america coast to coast
9. visit every american state
10. solve a rubics cube
11. see a musical on broadway
12. witness a solar eclipse
13. see a falling star
14. name a star
15. see a comet
16. learn to speak another language
17. see a meteor shower
18. learn sign language
19. meet someone with my birthdate
20. learn to juggle
21. finish a 1000 piece puzzle
22. live in New York
23. experience weightlessness
24. meet someone famous
25. get a perm
I love reading things I wrote years ago - it makes me look back at me at that time and think about what things I'm still aspiring to, and also how much we change in just the course of a few measly years. The funny thing is I completely forgot about that list and I've actually managed to tick a few of them off over these years without realising: I've solved a rubics cube (with the help of some nifty website that you punch in coordinates!), I've seen my very first falling star, I actually got a perm (I looked a bit 80's there for a while), I've met someone with my birthdate, tried to teach myself sign language from the internet, and i'm currently attempting (baby steps!) to learn a bit of spanish. Thats six crossed off the list already, 19 to go and the rest of my life to do it!!!

summer rain
because its about lifes simple perks - waking up early enough to see sunrise, fairy bread, watching romantic movies, road trips with friends, music that makes you cry, painting, sketching, walks along the river, travelling to new cities, photos from friends returned home, singing at the top of your lungs, standing in the rain, window shopping, hot chocolates in winter, red fingernails, city skylines at dusk, bowls of fruit, reading a good novel, summer rain, and good music.
